First things first; you'll fall in love with Padraig. Come to think of it, you'll love, or at least admire, many of the characters. You'll laugh out loud at the conversations and predicaments in which the characters find themselves at times, feel outrage at the callous treatment of the children living in St. Joseph's Orphanage and the bigoted, spiteful attitude of small-minded villagers, and rejoice in the spirited outcome. A pleasure to read from start to finish.
