Many barriers stand in their way to love: an over-protective brother, two jealous would-be lovers, and society itself. There's no middle ground for them. Either Morgan denies his Wolf and forces himself into a form acceptable to the "civilized" world, or Athena leaves her opulent, secure world and embraces her Wolf. Krinard has created a magical world where the freaks and outcasts exhibit more humanity than the so-called "normal" people. Her werewolves, tortured souls never resembling their trite Hollywood counterparts, make incredibly sympathetic characters, and this is a truly engrossing story.
